Reports of possible problems in entries[edit]

This section is designed for the reports of possibly incorrect entries present in the catalog. Add reports as new points of the list (the line should start with *); comment entries using indentation (the line should start with *:), increase the indentation in order to continue the thread (so *::, then *:::, then *:::: etc.). --Epìdosis 13:42, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Format[edit]

The actual format of the EDIT16 ID appears to be `[0-9]{6}`, so maybe the regex should be `[0-9]{5,6}`?  – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Awinkler3 (talk • contribs).

@Awinkler3: I think not. I directly asked Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo Unico (Q3803707) and they answered that retaining the form without initial 0s is preferable. --Epìdosis 14:52, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Epidosis: They themselves do use the leading zeros, however, cf. https://edit16.iccu.sbn.it/resultset-autori/-/autori/detail/CNCA002993 Template:Nunsigned
Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo Unico (Q3803707) has renewed all its websites last December and their layout may still change in the first half of these year, so I'm not entirely sure this format will remain the same. Since in general Wikidata tends to avoid the zero-padding of external IDs whenever possible, and in this case IDs without zero-padding redirect to IDs with zero-padding, I would avoid changing the format unless the situation evolves differently. However, if there is consensus for changing the format of the IDs here, it could be eventually done. --Epìdosis 17:09, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
