"item requires statement constraint"[edit]

Even here (as already in P245): Sorry, but a lot of the requested statements are just seen throu very tight glasses. Date of birth, Place of birth, Given name, this all did not work for a lot of Items. For ever item with a notname/provisional name, for all thore, who are artists that have lived before the 15th century. There are some thousands of artists just form ancient Greece and Rome for whom we can't provide this informations. For some, because we did not know names, for others, because the name system in Greece as in Rome were different to today. But I get this now every time as a mistake. This is frustrating. Please remember, that there are more than "Summ of all paintings". -- Marcus Cyron (talk) 11:52, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Marcus Cyron: These are all suggestions, not actually requirements. Only the gender is a should-have—it’s quite unlikely that we don’t know even the subject’s gender (and has works in the collection (P6379)J. Paul Getty Museum (Q731126) is a must-have, but that can always be filled). Probably there are many cases where we don’t know the birth data, but also many others where it’s known, just the item doesn’t contain it yet. Suggestions can always be ignored, this is why they are only suggestions. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 14:59, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Note: This identifier and property also deals with organizations (e.g. photographic studios, partnerships and collectives), which inherently have no gender, date of birth, nor any human values. -Animalparty (talk) 21:25, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Finding the ID on a page[edit]

Take for example Théodore Géricault (Q184212). It links to 493 and this url redirects to https://www.getty.edu/art/collection/person/103JXY . If you scroll to the bottom of that page you'll see the "DOR ID" with 493. Multichill (talk) 15:01, 11 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

new proposal J._Paul_Getty_Museum_agent_ID[edit]

I proposed a new prop Wikidata:Property_proposal/J._Paul_Getty_Museum_agent_ID to replace the old J. Paul Getty Museum agent DOR ID (old) (P2432). This is in line with the redirect mentioned in the above section. -- Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 16:37, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
