Property is hard to understand[edit]

I don't understand what this property is @Jonathan Groß. Could you please improve the description? Lectrician1 (talk) 17:09, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Lectrician1: I would be happy to, but I don't know which part is unclear. Is this better: "state in which a work is transmitted; for the state of its material witnesses, use P5816" ? Jonathan Groß (talk) 18:50, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind, I get it. Lectrician1 (talk) 19:20, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Lectrician1: This reminds me of something I thought of yesterday. Having values such as "hypothetical" and "projected" for this property may be problematic as those make the works basically non-existent. If a work's existence is not directly attested and can only be conjectured by scholarship, it is not really "transmitted". And if it is only attested as a projection (e.g. A asks B to write a history, C telling D that she plans to write an epic) it basically never existed and thus is also hypothetical, so that "state of transmission" might be a poor concept to apply for both.
I had not seen it this way a few weeks ago when I made the proposal. For now, I think I'll stick with what I've been doing. Jonathan Groß (talk) 05:34, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
