[edit]Originally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Authority control
Motivation
[edit]Notified participants of WikiProject Authority control: Highly authoritative source in the Canadian Oxford Dictionary (2nd edition) (Q104096047) (URL: https://www.oxfordreference.com/display/10.1093/acref/9780195418163.001.0001/acref-9780195418163). --Soufiyouns (talk) 06:30, 11 May 2024 (UTC)

Done as Canadian Oxford Dictionary ID (P12726). AdamSeattle (talk) 03:49, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
- It has a DOI in the URL, so why add a proprietary ID ? I have just added the URL match for thatBack ache (talk) 03:56, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Back ache: Even prior to P12582 (the earliest of Soufiyouns's proposals), properties with formatter URLs falling within the DOI space are nothing new. Mahir256 (talk) 12:34, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
- I agree, what I am saying is if in future there is DOI in the URL we should linkup using that (as a existing Standard ID) rather than "Yet Another Proprietary ID" Back ache (talk) 17:02, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
- Looking into it further the DOI is only good for the book, not the content within it so have added the regex Back ache (talk) 17:21, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
