Hi. I've been considering putting together a navbox. Below is a first draft. While the alphabetical order might not be the most useful, I paste it here as is to avoid losing my work.

We'll think about it later.--Alexmar983 (talk) 17:43, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

renaming suggestion: topic-specific data models[edit]

According to Wikidata:Data model#Three levels of data models, your this work is at level 3, e.g. `topic-specific data models`. So I think you should rename it with that, otherwise extra confusion may be introduced (, as before I opened this page, I was thinking you were talking about Level 2 - Wikidata fundamental data model). I understand your point, but practically I'm a bit skeptical about the need to change the name of this category to Category:Topic-specific data models (which was the previous name). In fact we have the general page Wikidata:Data model which is an overview on the three levels of data model of Wikidata (Wikibase, Wikidata-general, Wikidata-topic-specific); in fact, the Wikibase data model is not treated in any page, the Wikidata-general is treated only in Help:Basic membership properties and all the rest of the pages are about topic-specific data models. So having a generic category Category:Data model (or Category:Data models) containing only two entities (Wikidata:Data model and Help:Basic membership properties) and a very big subcategory Category:Topic-specific data models could be IMHO a bit overly-complicated and the present solution could be easier to manage; also, Category:Data models is easier to find Category:Topic-specific data models in my perception. Anyway, if there is a strong consensus for the change of name, I think it could be a fair solution as well. Epìdosis 17:27, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have no strong opinion with the naming of the category, so the majority can decide here. I will in any case change the infobox title—it's not an issue as I prefer more specific names. If this creates a more logical order on the long term, it's fine with me. Plus, it seems I won't be removing a lot of pages in any case with such a specific title, so it's no big deal. In summary, I will save the navbox with the specific title and insert it that way, categorizing it here. You can rename the categories or create subcategories later.--Alexmar983 (talk) 17:35, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
