Not Catholic only[edit]
I changed the description. For some reason the description of this was "administrative division of the catholic church to which the element belongs", which is incorrect. Diocese is an episcopal term in other Christian churches, not only Catholic. Danrok (talk) 00:02, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
Parishes, deaneries etcetera[edit]
At the moment, the label and the description of this item are a little contradictory. The label suggests it is strictly for dioceses, while the description says it is for the "administrative division of the church to which the element belongs". Churches can consist of hundreds of subdivisions at many levels, not just the diocese.
I think it would make sense to transform this property into a holy version of located in the administrative territorial entity (P131), with the label being something like "church administrative unit" and the statement containing the lowest level of church administration (for a church this would typically be its parish). Mapping the ecclesiastical level of different items is definitely something Wikidata should do. Considering we have one unified property for secular subdivisions, it makes sense to have one single property for church subdivisions as well. Väsk (talk) 07:49, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
