Project Goals
[edit]Since 1967, the Jerome Robbins Dance Division's Dance Original Documentation initiative has video-recorded thousands of dance productions around New York City. Many recorded productions present world premieres of choreographic works by established and emerging choreographers. This project is dedicated to recording premiere information in Wikidata enhance or create entries for dancers, choreographers, and dance productions captured by D.O.D.

Project Goals
[edit]On Wikidata (and elsewhere!), Off-Broadway theatres companies are frequently conflated with the theatre buildings in which they produce work, which becomes apparent when companies move, change names, or dissolve; theatre buildings often have multiple distinct performance spaces, are inhabited by many companies over time, and change names. The goal of this project is to disentangle conflated company/building items and create missing items for buildings and companies, drawing in part on NYPL's many archival collections of theatre companies (finding aids often have a helpful chronology of the company and can be cited in references).

[edit]To enhance Wikidata with information derived from a digitized portion of the Michael Cummings African American Art Event Ephemera Collection, which consists of posters, pamphlets, postcard, fliers, brochures, and other print material used to advertise or announce art exhibitions and events related to work created by Black and Latinx artists
