Open Data Days 2025 | #ODD2025
March 1 - March 15, 2025

International Open Data Day (Q25112115) is an annual event that promotes awareness and the use of open data. To celebrate Open Data Day 2025, a datathon is being organized from March 1 to March 15, 2025, as part of Open Data Day 2025 (Q132851352).

This online event aims to enhance and improve data in Wikidata by engaging contributors in structured data editing, enrichment, and linking efforts. Participants will collaborate to expand and refine open datasets, aligning with this year’s theme, 'Open Data to Tackle the Polycrisis.'. This theme focuses on addressing some of the most pressing global issues, such as poverty, inequality, violence, conflict, and climate change, by leveraging open data.

This initiative focuses on improving Wikidata by adding and refining location-based information and linking with OpenSteetMap (OSM). Participants can contribute by linking Wikidata items to corresponding OSM features, verifying coordinates, and enriching datasets with relevant properties.

Join us in contributing to Wikidata and making open data more accessible and impactful.

Upload Images of public facilities

  • Use WikiShootMe to find public places without images.
    • You can add an image to a Wikidata item that doesn't already have one (remember, each item should ideally only have one image). Wikidata items with no image have their own layer, and are shown as large red circles.
