Motivation

Very surprised this hasn't be added. We probably need a new datatype. Many cellphone databases exist with this information. We need to figure out Display size, character displays (e.g. Data Discman (Q5227158) → 30 characters by 10 lines, each character 8x16 pixels), handling weird screens (e.g. the sub-pixel configuration RGB/RBG Horizontal/Vertical, PenTile display, w:OLPC XO's switchable display, w:Beam-index tube, w:Autostereoscopy display, barrel-distorted HMDs) Dispenser (talk) 21:31, 23 May 2017 (UTC)

Discussion
  • I see the value if being able to capture this information in Wikidata but the proposed way to use strings seems a bit ugly. Mixing × with x is calling for problems. I think I prefer a solution with has part (P527) display which is qualified with three separate qualifiers for height (P2048), width (P2049) and resolution. • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose with this particular name and implementation as per above commenters, though the idea of recording resolution is valid and useful. Suggest that it use an existing property, and then the appropriate horizontal, vertical and bit-depth properties are integers that can be properly queried. - Fuzheado (talk) 15:11, 30 May 2017 (UTC)
