legislation.govt.nz ID[edit]

Originally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Organization

Motivation[edit]

The legislation.govt.nz website is the definitive source of all legislation currently in force in NZ. Its digital versions are the legally binding versions of these Acts, and are therefore kept up to date. Wikidata maintains many NZ statutes and being able to connect these to this source would be useful.

If helpful, each URL is made up of legislation.govt.nz/[document]/[type]/[Year]/[[Chapter]/[Version]/[ID].html.

Example: https://legislation.govt.nz/act/public/2018/0032/194.0/DLM6783115.html, The Social Security Act, Version 194 of the 32nd Public Act of 2018. Every section within the act has its own unique DLM ID, so this can not only be used on the Acts themselves, but individual sections if relevant. El Dubs (talk) 12:24, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

  •  Comment Can you clarify the ID you are expecting to use here? I updated the formatter URL and the examples to follow the pattern of the URL's of the examples you had already placed, but I'm not sure that's really what you're expecting here. Updated! It should look something like "act/public/2018/0032/latest/DLM6783115", as not every example will be an act, it could be a bill instead, and it may be a local or private act, not a public act. I've added a further example to show the difference. El Dubs (talk) 03:20, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
