has phenotype[edit]

Originally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Natural science

Done: has phenotype (P6532) (Talk and documentation)
DescriptionA relationship that holds between a biological entity and a phenotype, equivalent to "has property" in the relation ontology
Data typeItem
Example 1Aadat (Q18255583)abnormal neuron morphology (Q61731056)
Example 2Aadat (Q18255583)altered righting response (Q61731417)
Example 3Aadat (Q18255583)early eyelid opening (Q61731496)
Planned usePlan to use this property to model genotype -> phenotype mappings in wikidata based on the Mouse Genome Informatics website
Expected completenesseventually complete (Q21873974)

The Mouse Genome Database contains knowledge on Mouse genes and their phenotypes. We would like to add these mappings between mouse genes and phenotypes to Wikidata. This property is inspired by the has phenotype (RO:0002200) from the relation ontology and should be considered an equivalent property. Andrawaag (talk) 21:45, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

@Andrawaag: I tried to create this property but an automatic check failed: the description A relationship that holds between a biological entity and a phenotype. Here a phenotype is construed broadly as any kind of quality of an organism part, a collection of these qualities, or a change in quality or qualities (e.g. abnormally increased temperature). The subject of this relationship can be an organism (where the organism has the phenotype, i.e. the qualities inhere in parts of this organism), a genomic entity such as a gene or genotype (if modifications of the gene or the genotype causes the phenotype), or a condition such as a disease (such that if the condition inheres in an organism, then the organism has the phenotype). is too long. Please fix your proposal and your property will be created shortly. This is an automated message but do not hesitate to ping me if you need any help. − Pintoch (talk) 17:55, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
