Comment Can this proposal be updated to include some information or qualifying properties which could be used to differentiate between "file size of installer or distribution package", "total uncompressed size of software once installed", "file size of software source repository" and other examples. It's not clear to me how this property is intended to be used to describe to the size of software, especially when software can be distributed and installed in various configurations that impact the file size. For example, x86_32 versus x86_64 architecture and distributions with or without documentation, game data, debug information. Pixeldomain (talk) 03:59, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
- There is a qualifier for this : applies to part (P518). But imho this may be better modelled by an item for the stuff that is supposed to be modelled.

- Comment why limiting to file ? I think something like "data weight" or something would be more appropriate. For example the size of a database can be relevant, but it may be dispatched in several file. author TomT0m / talk page 18:09, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
- Comment If this property is named "data size" instead, it could be used generically for defining the size of a data structure (Q175263), document repository (Q1235234), and computer file (Q82753) without the need for multiple properties. Note that there are some other proposals at maximum size or capacity which should be considered at the same time as this "file size"/"data size" proposal.
