Motivation

It seems to me that the drainage basin (Q166620) of a body of water (Q15324) should be easy to document here, being such a basic property of ontologies in hydrography (Q182468). This is, for the moment, dealt through located in/on physical feature (P706) – and possibly also part of (P361) – where it is mixed with things such as plateaus, islands and other unrelated stuff. And then using a combination of outflows (P201) and mouth of the watercourse (P403) in queries is both lengthy and risky as the chain can be broken by only one item. Seriously, this should be much more basic than all this and this is why I believe we should have this direct subproperty. Thierry Caro (talk) 14:34, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
