chassis[edit]

Done: chassis (P7045) (Talk and documentation)

Motivation[edit]

Especially it could be useful for the buses because there is a huge amount of item about bus chassis (see here) but we don't use them. Well, we use them but only for the follows (P155)/followed by (P156) properties. This brand new property could be a great usage for them and it would be useful useful for the Wikipedias' infoboxes importing the data from the Wikidata. As I mentioned this would be good for cars and trucks too but at the moment only few car chassis has Wikidata item and there isn't any truck chassis. – balint36 🚌 bus stopp 20009, 17 January 2019 (UTC))

tend to {oo}, it seems enough to use {has partt} for this. The {subclass off} claim of the object of the claim will be enough to know that the object is a chassis (in sparql, codee?chassis_model wdtt:{Piddpart off} wddQ24908099 wdttP31 wddQ230348677<codee or codee?chassis_model wdtt:{Piddpart off} wddQ24908099 wdttP2799 wddQQthe « chassis » item idd]<codee can do that. This works for all the other types of parts. span stylee=borderr 1px C9C9C99;">span stylee=backgrounddcolorr:E8E8E88paddingg3pxx;"authorrnbspp;<spann>span stylee=backgrounddcolorr:FFFFFFF;">nbspp;[UserrTomT0mmTomT0mm] <spanntalk [User talkkTomT0mmpagee]]<spann 17753, 21 January 2019 (UTC))
The problem using {PP5277} is later we (especially the beginners) wonnt be able to make difference between the the chassis and the engines (the other part). For examplee Volvo uses similar names for engines and chassis (Volvo D8K vs. Volvo B8R I bet you cannt tell which is the engine and which is the chassis) so it will be confusing to a beginner seeing on the {QQ26398000} that the bus contains Volvo D8K, Volvo B8R, Volvo B8RLE. Then using {PP5277} instead an own property makes harder to read the type of the chassis from the Wikidata on many Wikipedias. And finally storing all parts of the vehicle in one peoperty is unnecessary. The question is what kind of other types of parts we want. We donnt care the type of the windscreen or the type of the tires. The two parts we need are the chassis and the engine. The engeine already has an own property (({PP5166}). So what remains in the {PP5277}? – [UserrBalint366balint366] supp>[User talkkBalint366🚌 bus stopop]]supu 01029, 22 January 2019 (UTC)C)
