Motivation

It's one of a couple of UK hydrological databases maintained by or for the joint Environment Agencies of Great Britain (the other being UK Lakes Portal (Q73433162)), and can be considered an impeccable source for characteristics of UK lakes such as location, surface area, elevation, capacity, &c.
