I once added all the official German titles for every instance of Star Trek episode (Q61220733) using the property title (P1476). Someone then deleted those and told me to use name (P2561) instead. Which I did. But I still think, it should be called title. It is just not the actual/official/primary title. So how about having a separate property for localised titles? note that some works might multiple localised titles in the same language (example 6 & 7). --Shisma (talk) 09:36, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

  • Strictly, every localized version should be a new item, though many people will disagree.--GZWDer (talk) 09:37, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
  • Currently, labels are generally used for that purpose (on film/tv series items). --- Jura 09:41, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
  • GA candidate.svg Weak support I agree that every localized version should have a new item, but on the other hand I'm rather pessimistic if people are going to create new items only to indicate the title in their language. Labels may be deceptive as there are cases where the film was not localized in the language and the Wikidata label holds the (transcribed) original title, sometimes because this is the lemma of the associated Wikipedia article. To have some examples for that: Vovka v tridevyatom tsarstve (Q4113875), Seryi Volk & Krasnaya Shapochka (Q3224104), Olsenbanden tar gull (Q1632925). - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 13:17, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
