- Not sure, what is the advantage over using described at URL (P973) here? The domain appears to be very broad. Multichill (talk) 22:34, 25 November 2017 (UTC)
- Support as consistent with other major museum collections. Object IDs may be helpful in automatically creating image galleries in Structure Commons. And if the URL pattern changes in the future, we can fix the format once rather than having to use a bot or script to update all instances. - PKM (talk) 00:57, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
- Support Too bad the url format is the same for artists and their works, but definitely useful. Jane023 (talk) 10:38, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
- Support Major museum collections should always have their own ID on Wikidata. Missvain (talk) 16:26, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
- I looked a bit into this. Every document on the site has a number. Documents can be work of art, artists or other stuff:
- Work of arts art like 239578 don't really add a lot over described at URL (P973) and because the identifier would be mixed with other things, setting constraints is not really possible
- Artists like 167952 have useless pages. No information about the artists at all. I always try to only propose artists properties where at least some sort of useful information is available. You don't want to have links to this collection on artists items.
- Other stuff like 3707 is out of scope for Wikidata
- Based on this, I Oppose the creation of this property. Multichill (talk) 16:28, 26 November 2017 (UTC)

- Support I learned new things about Magritte's art by going to the profile page for him, even though the page lacks biographical data. Thanks to Multichill for pointing out that there are some identifiers for things out of scope of WD: that suggests we should use this ID with caution, as we do with a lot of other IDs. Since this is an ID out of which a URL can be constructed, it's appropriate for its own property and not just described at URL (P973). MartinPoulter (talk) 12:53, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

- @ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2, MartinPoulter, Multichill, Pigsonthewing, Missvain: @Jane023, PKM, Thierry Caro: Done Created as LACMA ID (P4611). The creation of the property shouldn't be understood as allowing directly the automatic creation of all items that have ID. In case large amounts of data get imported I recommend to request a bot approval for the import that decides on what we want to import. ChristianKl (✉) 15:41, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
