Motivation[edit]
Same motivation as for other package properties (Gentoo package (P3499) Arch Linux package (P3454) AUR package (P4162) Debian stable package (P3442) Fedora package (P3463) Ubuntu package (P3473)), let's extend the coverage and provide information on FreeBSD port as well. - Support. There are similar Linux-specific properties, but this would allow for verification that a project is not Linux-specific and can be used on FreeBSD. –LiberatorG (talk) 17:39, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hmm, I haven't though of this use. In fact I haven't planned to propose more similar properties right away (and dump a lot of data which may not have immediate consumers, but would require maintenance - something I intuitively avoid after years in OSM), but sure can do if that's deemed useful - Repology and User:Repology_bot supports them all equally good. Other candidates with the property of conveying non-Linux software portability could be pkgsrc (multiplatform, though it may contains linux-only software as well), OpenBSD ports (OpenBSD), Homebrew (Mac) and MacPorts (Mac), maybe Scoop and vcpkg (Windows). --AMDmi3 (talk) 21:16, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
- @AMDmi3: the regular expression seems to be invalid (try it at https://regex101.com/), marking as not ready, feel free to add the flag back once this is solved. − Pintoch (talk) 08:45, 12 October 2019 (UTC)
- Oops, no idea how the wrong kind of slash got there. Fixed --AMDmi3 (talk) 13:39, 14 October 2019 (UTC)
