Motivation

Fapesp is a public foundation located in São Paulo, Brazil, with the aim of providing grants, funds and programs to support research, education and innovation of private and public institutions and companies in the state of São Paulo. I think it could be useful to be an authority control for Wikidata. Sturm (talk) 04:08, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Discussion
@Sturm: Can you respond to Mike Peel? ChristianKl (talk) 20:48, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
Hey, @Mike Peel:! Be bold!!!! :D 00:41, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
@Sturm, ChristianKl: How does that look? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 21:00, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
It doesn't contain information about label of the three. I like that the description says something about what Fapesp happens to be, but it would also be good if it provides the information that it's an identifier and for what it happens to be an identifier. In the domain field we usually store where the property is going to be used and use that information to formulate the constraints later. ChristianKl () 21:39, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
I couldn't figure out how to include labels in the wikicode. I think two are obvious - "FAPESP institution ID" and "FAPESP researcher ID", but I'm not sure what the English translation of "auxilios" is in this context. @Sturm: can you suggest something, and maybe think about @ChristianKl's other points? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 18:53, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
Considering this page, I would say that "auxílio" means "scholarship" in this context. These identifiers are applied to researchers and research institutions that are financed by FAPESP, mainly Brazilian ones, but it may also be applied to foreigners as well. Sturm (talk) 19:24, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
Second thought... Grants looks better than scholarship for these... Sturm (talk) 02:48, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
@Sturm, Mike Peel: I added labels and took a guess at "Facility" for the middle one, is that likely? ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:58, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
"Grants" looks better! ;) Sturm (talk) 02:35, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
@Mike Peel, ChristianKl: are you happy with this now? Any further comments? ArthurPSmith (talk) 20:03, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
I think this is good to go. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 20:36, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
The description is still the same for every one of the three. I'm not sure about FAPESP Grants ID. If this is about specific grants, it should point to items about grants instead of items about research institutions. ChristianKl () 20:38, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
I've updated descriptions. Regarding the middle identifier for "Grants" - the link does seem to go to a page describing a limited funding period for the institution/project. The name "auxilios" seems to be related to financial aid, although playing with Google Translate it seems like 'subvenção' would be the more common translation of a financial grant? Not sure. • I've marked the institutions and researcher ID properties as ready. I'm still not quite sure on the Grants one - any further discussion needed there? ArthurPSmith (talk) 16:45, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
I am happy with all 3 ids! :) Sturm (talk) 15:30, 22 November 2017 (UTC)
