Motivation[edit]

A biographical database of primarily 19th-century London photographers, studios, and related personnel, used as a source for the Photographers’ Identities Catalog (Q23892012) (over 8,500 entries from photoLondon) and other databases. The website was formerly more extensive, containing a trove of photographs, essays, and resources compiled from various museums, but now it appears to be a stripped-down yet still valuable resource.
