Motivation[edit]

Twitter Moments showcase either live or static feeds of Tweets relating to an event, news story, holiday, birthday, or fact check. The title of the moment can change in the case of ongoing events, but the subject event will remain the same. I believe this will be a good property for giving identifiers to events, and archiving Twitter moments as they start to disappear from the explore page.

Past moments can be found through Google or other Tweets, so we can add the identifier to old events as well.

Similarly to Twitter post ID (P5933), moments can be created by anyone, but we would only be using relevant ones. More specifically, most moments on Wikidata will be official Twitter-curated feeds, which notably do not show a specific author on the page, and typically have a "Live" notice when an event is ongoing.

This will complement hashtag (P2572), which are sometimes shown alongside moments in the trending tab.

For holiday and birthday moments, the point in time (P585) may be needed to specify the year.
