Hello.

Can you translate and upload en:Forests of Azerbaijan in Farsi Wikipedia?

Name changes[edit]

Please do not change correct personal names to illiterate ones! In English language only "Mohammad Reza" or "Mohammad-Reza" is right, never MohammadReza. The same goes for other cases: "Qasemzadeh", "Qasem-Zadeh" or "Qasem Zadeh" are all correct, but not QasemZadeh. --Orijentolog (talk) 17:05, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, common Romanization of "و" in the most reliable sources (like Iranica and other encyclopedias) is "u" like kuh, rud, etc., not "oo" or "ou", at least for traditional names. Some modern artists may stylize their name by their wish, also politicians may use official Romanized names, so "oo" or "ou" can also be acceptable. But, you obviously assumed that only "ou" is correct, and you changed numerous items accordingly, not only modern individuals but also historical sites and even various other languages. That's bizarre, ridiculous and, of course, reverted. If I see more item changes to illiterate names (already explained above) as well as this issues again, I'll report you for disruptive editing. --Orijentolog (talk) 21:36, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In the case of "محمدعلی" there are three possibilities: Mohammad Ali (example: Mohammad Ali Tabatabaei Hassani), Mohammad-Ali (example: Mohammad-Ali Keshavarz) and Mohammadali (example: Mohammadali Geraei). All three are correct, at least in English language, and the one you're using (MohammadAli) is incorrect. Check Wikipedias, check encyclopedias, check books... no one use such version. --Orijentolog (talk) 22:35, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, for example Britannica uses it (Mohammad Ali Rajaʾi & Muhammad ʿAli Jamalzadah), and Iranica uses both (Mohammad Ali Fardin & Mohammad-Ali Jamalzadeh). These are two most common versions, and "Mohammadali" is the rarest, but all three are correct because they're common in English-language texts. You can use "Mohammad-Ali" rather than other two, but you should never use "MohammadAli" because that's completely wrong. And sorry, you simply can not "correct" something if it's common in some language, German "Teheran" may be misspelled version of "Tehran," but it's still the name in their usage. --Orijentolog (talk) 23:15, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Pesar Ammeh Za" may be incorrect in Persian, but in English it's in usage (imdb). Still, I see no problem of adding "-". "Kazerun" can not be wrong by any means because it's being used on Iranica and Britannica as such, so modern pronouncing is irrelevant. The same goes for Isfahan or Nishapur which are used in English for centuries, so modern local pronouncing like Esfahan or Neyshabur can't replace it. --Orijentolog (talk) 23:25, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, pesar is never Romanized with two "s" (like "pessar") in English, so again you're "correcting" something which is already correct. --Orijentolog (talk) 23:37, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'll repeat you again: Persian pronouncing is irrelevant for common names in English. Can you understand it finally? --Orijentolog (talk) 18:39, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I understand that. But please ask me why I change names before reverting. Like I had to explain about Arash Mo'ayerian and Mehdi Fat'hi. Shkuru Afshar (talk) 21:45, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see you do not understand, and you still repeat the same. Just one more time and I'll report you to administrators. --Orijentolog (talk) 09:01, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I understood what you said very well and followed it and didn't change many names anymore.
Answer just one question and no more: How come it is Shahab Hosseini (not Hoseini) and it is Yekta Naser (not Nasser)? Even though that pronunciations are exactly the same. Shkuru Afshar (talk) 10:17, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
