MediaWiki message delivery (talkcontribs)

Hello

This is an important message regarding this page.

This page uses Structured Discussions/Flow, an obsolete tool that causes many maintenance problems. It has been decided to remove this tool from the wikis.

As of December 16, it will no longer be possible to add a new topic or post a message on this page.

Before this date, you can move or have this page moved to a subpage, in order to archive it. Once moved, this page will become a standard discussion page.

If you get this message on your personal talk page, it is probably because you turned Structured Discussions on, using the Beta features page. Please check there if you can to turn Structured Discussions off.

If you haven't moved this page by December 16, a script will automatically move the page to an archive page (the format will be Page name/Flow). The page using Structured Discussions/Flow will then be made read-only.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Here's what I saw in my watchlist from you:

Not the same person. This is the person at https://akleg.gov/100years/bio.php?id=686

You have got to be kidding me. Did you not read the note I left on the talk page? I provided a verifiable source, too. The Associated Press is a far more credible source than 100 Years of Alaska's Legislature and it thoroughly contradicts multiple data points found in the latter so-called "source". Considering the influence that Wikidata enjoys these days at sister projects, I don't think it's defensible to deliberately promulgate factual inaccuracies simply because some editors believe the purpose of this site is to blindly parrot the lowest-hanging fruit. It's not just this entry, trust me.RadioKAOS (talk) 04:59, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

Hi, see this edit by your bot. Could you please use the regular file name without percent encoding? This would make it much easier to read the wikitext.

The reason for this edit is that there is no source to corroborate that value, neither in eswiki or frwiki. Regards

Oravrattas (talkcontribs)

Hi. Generally we don't delete data just for that reason. Consumers of the data can filter based on what level of sourcing they required. Even if the value is incorrect it should be Deprecated rather than deleted.

Separate 2 pages

Good morning,

Would you be kind enough to split this page Q29122510 in two, as there are regional elections 2018 (in arabic and English) and local elections in 2023 (in arabic and french).

Thanks,

If you don't want people merging the items, then you should clean out the data from the obsolete one. At the minute queries are returning two different items for the same person, so it's highly likely that someone will 'fix' this again.

Miraclepine (talkcontribs)

Well, the thing is cleaning out the data takes a lot of time, so to make the maintenance nature of the duplication obvious for the pages and the queries, I think it would be reasonable to add Wikimedia permanent duplicate item and replace the description with "Wikimedia permanent duplicate item".

Hi!

I strongly suspect it's already at ★ by now, as it looks as if everyone on https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/55e_l%C3%A9gislature_de_la_Chambre_des_repr%C3%A9sentants_de_Belgique is linked to a page there, and will presumably also therefore have a Wikidata item. So if you want to bump it to that, go ahead. But the easiest way to make sure would probably be to take it to ★★ or even ★★★, by bringing Wikidata:WikiProject every politician/Belgium/data/Chamber/Current Members up to date. Looks like it's pretty close already. I'm happy to help out if you get stuck.

Hey @Jona, this looks great. You don't need my permission to update the list though :) If you think it's good, just go ahead and bump the rating.

Thanks !

I would say that being the editor and the evaluator comes with biais (especially if you evaluate only your work). :-P

WikiProject Country subdivision/Items (Japan)

Hello, @Oravrattas, concerning your endeavour at WikiProject Country subdivision/Items:

Our pleasure to come and assist at Wikidata for administrative divisions in Japan. (=

One small point to share with you: we have adjusted the query as below, to avoid National Parks in Japan contaminating the list we are discussing, espeiallly those 47 largest subdivisions.

I was told that the adjustment is:

*applied SPARQL "?item wdt:P31 wd:Q50337.";

*instead of SPARQL "?item wdt:P31/wdt:P279* wd:Q50337."

As I am not very fluent tech-wise, I am not sure the above two lines are enough to inform you: So if you have any points to question, would you care to ping me?

Tthe task itself was so exciting, I could not stop but share with my ja-voy peers, who are fluent tech-wise. Our heartfelt praise for your enduring passion for keeping wikidata what it shall be, we remain. Cheers,
