Ogham Sites and Townlands

[edit]

Hi,

I've been importing all the townlands in Ireland over the last couple of months. I've noticed that you've previously added some townlands to wikidata previously that contain Ogham sites. These are often tagged with the following instance of (P31):

instance of
Normal rank townland
0 references
add reference
Normal rank Ogham Site
0 references
add reference
add value

I've been planning to separate out townlands and ogham sites by moving the townland (Q2151232) statement to a different item but before I do, I wanted to check that this wouldn't mess up the Ogi-Ogham Project (Q70873595).

Ideally, there should be separate items for the townland (Q2151232) and the Ogham Site (Q72617071) as presumably the ogham site does not encompass the entirety of the townland. There are other issues too, such as a townland would have a Logainm ID (P5097), but an ogham site might not or may have a different Logainm ID (P5097). The ogham sites should then have location (P276) of the townland's item and a more precise coordinate location (P625) if it is available. Then presumably an individual ogham stone (Q2016147) should be part of (P361) of the Ogham Site (Q72617071).

Let me know if this plan would cause any issues. Teester (talk) 10:48, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

bowl

[edit]

You recently added the claim that bowl (Q153988) is a subclass of shape (Q207961). But the description of this class indicates that it is for physical bowls, which have a shape but are not a shape themselves. So this claim is incorrect. Peter F. Ephesos (Samian ware discovery site)

[edit]

Hi, I just saw the entry you added a while back on Ephesos (Samian Ware Discovery Site) and was wondering whether it can be merged with Ephesos. I've also added most pottery publications from Ephesos on Wikidata, just fyi. More on the project is here. Cheers Amalaswintha08 (talk) 14:52, 6 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Dear @Amalaswintha08, thank you for the message. I will ask the data holder (also because we interlinked the Q Identifier in the Samian Research Database) and how we proceed. If it would be merged, the old Q ID will forward to the new one, right? and also all statements will be transfered? Cheers! Flo Fthierygeo (talk) 11:34, 13 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Dear Flo, that sounds great! Yes, it will forward to the new one and statements will transfer. Is the project still ongoing? Cheers :) Amalaswintha08 (talk) 15:40, 16 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
