Block[edit]

I've blocked your bot per WD:Bot policy. You are running too fast making problem for the server (keep it to 30-60 edits per minute). Amir (talk) 10:46, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

To clarify, this was not a unilateral decision by Amir, it was requested by a group of administrators, as your bot was executing 80% of the edits on all wikis, causing large infrastructure problems that will impact other users. --JCrespo (WMF) (talk) 11:19, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Ladsgroup, @JCrespo (WMF): Thanks for letting me know. I couldn't have figured out this by myself as the first few thousand edits were going fine. I tried to find about the rate limit but the pages said that there's not a hard limit; now I realize that it was foolish to assume that tens of edits per second should be alright. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. The bot is perfectly capable of having hard time limits. This is the first bot I've written and it was not my intention to put such huge loads on the server; I am very sorry for what happened, again! The bot has been stopped from the server side now. When will this be unblocked? The source code will be modified to have a hard "wait" time set; the calls are usually "synchronous" in the sense that they wait for the server to send the response before trying another one. No worries, that's our job to monitor and act when things are not quite alright. Just keep it up to 60 edits per minute would be just fine Amir (talk) 10:45, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
