I see that this bot task ran recently. One thing I'll note is that some of the statements that were added resulted in constraint violations. See for example Q109188683. I wonder if it would be possible to prevent this from happening in the future. Maybe the bot could add a proper statement to Q19828729 even if it's something really generic? I noticed this was an issue because I watch Wikidata:Database_reports/Popular_items_without_claims and the list is just full of items that your bot linked to. I noticed the problems, but I didn't find any way to programmatically add statements. To add a “really generic” statement, I think it would mean cheating the constraint, I don't consider it the proper way. The resulted problems could be the subject of a new bot request, but I don't see any automatic resolution.

Of course I'm aware to generate fewer problems in the future. --Bean49 (talk) 18:02, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't speak the language but wouldn't written work (Q47461344) work for most/all of these? Any structure is better than literally nothing as long as it's true. BrokenSegue (talk) 19:01, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't speak either. I could add written work (Q47461344). Should I? Do you want it? Should I add it to parent items and child items too? --Bean49 (talk) 19:42, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

generally I think bot tasks shouldn't create constraint violations. I didn't realize you just took this task from someone else who requested it. I'm honestly no longer even sure published in (P1433) is the right property for this relationship since these aren't works published in another work but just constituent chapters of another work (as best as I can tell via google translate). oh this was requested by @Jura1:. They are no longer active so I guess we can't ask them. BrokenSegue (talk) 20:03, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I put here the bot request. I'm open to any solution, but these problems generate each other. You said before that something is better than nothing, then now it turns out that it's not so good. --Bean49 (talk) 20:16, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

that's fair. i don't want to hound you for doing a good deed. BrokenSegue (talk) 21:02, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
