Merging items[edit]

When you are merging items, please use the Merge.js gadget. It helps you nominating, gives the option to always keep the lower number (which is older, so preferable) and makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.

FIPS 10-4 (subdivisions)[edit]

You added the statement

Bueng Kan (Q1001862) FIPS 10-4 (countries and regions) (P901) "TH81"

But I think that this subdivision in Thailand does not have a FIPS 10-4 code and I haven't found this code anywhere. Is it a mistake or which source do you have for your statement? Is there a label and description for the property in Thai? BTW I plan to add all codes in a batch run. --Zuphilip (talk) 22:16, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Yes, it has that number, even though the FIPS 10-4 standard is no longer an official standard, the US military is still updating it. This code was assigned in the Update 6 [1], a longer description you can find on my blog at [2]. I now added the reference to update 6 as source to that statement. I am starting to build a bot myself (User:TambonBot), but its not yet approved and I also still struggle with the C# framework, so will leave the FIPS codes for you then. Sadly, my Thai isn't good enough to find a translation for that property... Ahoerstemeier (talk) 22:52, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the information. I improved the source information according to Help:Sources#Web_page. I guess that adding new codes is not very problematic. But deleting codes and replacing them with new ones might be more problematic (and is sometimes also written in the update instructions). Another approach would be to dublicate the property and use one for the old codes and the other for the new ones... I will make a link to this discussion from Property_talk:P901 to keep this in mind and maybe consider it later. --Zuphilip (talk) 07:44, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
The way I would do it is to have two statements, one for the current and one for the old, use the qualifiers start time (P580) and end time (P582) accordingly, and set the rank for the current statement to high while leaving it to normal for the outdated statement. I plan to do so for the Thai administrative code, a property hopefully created soon. Ahoerstemeier (talk) 08:31, 8 January 2014 (UTC)

Thai cultural heritage ID (P1626)[edit]

Thai cultural heritage ID (P1626) is ready. --Tobias1984 (talk) 12:09, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

P132[edit]

Please don't add any longer no label (P132) by TambonBot. Use instead instance of (P31). Thanks. --Pasleim (talk) 09:30, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

I thought I had deactivated that part already, but forgot to deactivate it for creating new items. Ahoerstemeier (talk) 09:54, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

administrative territorial entity of Thailand (Q1077333)[edit]

Hello. Thank you for your work. Could you help to fix Wikidata:Database reports/Constraint violations/P1067#Type Q1077333? — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 09:24, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

Deactivated too much in the bot when removing P132. Now fixed, and just added the missing statements by bot. Thanks for the hint, though I monitor the violations of P1067 myself and would have noticed it not much later. Ahoerstemeier (talk) 20:23, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
Thank you again, good work. — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 21:12, 2 January 2015 (UTC)

Wikibase[edit]

You can find the fork of Wikibase at [3] - though I haven't changed much in that fork lately, there are still many breaking changes I would like to do to the interface. I am using that fork as the basis of my User:TambonBot (Code at [4], but the Wikidata part is only a small part of that project).

The pages linked are all in the dictionary returned by Entity.getSitelinks() (which IMHO should be a readonly dictionary property, not a method). Unlike the web UI here where sites and languages are at a different level, all of the different sites and languages are in this one dictionary same as they are in the JSON object of the wikibase API. You just need to know the identifiers - e.g. "enwiki" is the English Wikipedia. Ahoerstemeier (talk) 21:52, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
Thank you a lot: you answered all my questions. So useful.
I began to "play" with the fork you provided me.
Actually I don't need this stuff but it seems the exception with geolocalisation data is thrown with your fork too => for example try to get Q11981. You can reproduce this exception with asDouble stuff with latitude, longitude etc.
I will contact you as soon as I did some relevant dev with you API.
Thanks again. --Agamitsudo (talk) 22:55, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
@Agamitsudo: The bug is actually within the MinimalJason, which does the parsing of doubles in the current locale - thus it fails if your decimal separator is not the dot. I checked in the fix March last year [5]. Ahoerstemeier (talk) 08:56, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Helgoland[edit]

Der englische Artikel startet mit "Patong (Thai หาดป่าตอง) refers to the beach and town on Phuket's west coast.", der schwedische gar mit "Patong Beach", der thailändische ist explizit nur über den Strand, die anderen Sprachen kann ich nur raten.
--Kolja21 (talk) 22:21, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
Was für Fehler? Ahoerstemeier (talk) 22:53, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

Deleted item[edit]

Chan Saen Chai Q17320422 is empty since Jul 09, 2014 [6]. Maybe if you create a wikipedia page: [7] nobody will delete it. Please remember Wikidata:Notability, I did not make the rules. --LadyInGrey (talk) 18:53, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

@LadyInGrey: You better read the notability rules, items without Wikipedia links are neither empty nor not notable, not just no links! Empty means no statements and no links! And an item with so many statements should be rather clear to be not speedily deleted, and it would have been rather easy to verify that notability rule 2 clearly identifiable conceptual or material entity applies to a Thai municipality. Ahoerstemeier (talk) 22:47, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
If xx.wikipedia (admins) and the community are agree with the deletion, the page(s) was/were no notable, or maybe they have not reason to delete. Why th.community are not agree with you? They think that the page must be deleted, and they did it. Notable or not notable, empty or not empty, my reason to delete a page is to try to accompany the decision of the wikipedia community, and I have no reason to verify/control/know/etc. the notability of all deleted pages from wikipedia. And... speedily deleted? 16 months later is not speedily, but I know, it is clear to me, th.wikipedia and me are wrong. --LadyInGrey (talk) 02:14, 14 November 2015 (UTC)
That item was never listed on Wikidata:Requests for deletions, thus it was speedily deleted without discussion. Again, having no Wikipedia link may indicate something being not notable, but notability criteria 2 is still there. Maybe the article was deleted because it was a copyright violation? If in doubt, don't just delete knowledge!!! Ahoerstemeier (talk) 13:29, 14 November 2015 (UTC)

Chaloem Phra Kiat Thai Prachan National Park (Q15707819)[edit]

I assume you made some mistake here but am not sure what you were trying to do? I think this national park was established circa 2003? Thanks. SJK (talk) 10:57, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, that was a nonsense date, that number was supposed to be the WDPA ID (P809). The park was officially established in 2012. Ahoerstemeier (talk) 11:05, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

AAT cultures/styles[edit]

Hi friend! About this undo "That ID is about the art history period, not the city": in the last couple weeks I've added maybe 2k AAT IDs based on semi-automated matching processes. I know there's no "Bangkok culture/style" on WD, so rather than merely reverting me, could you please create one? --Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 12:52, 12 April 2017 (UTC)

Deprecated rank for IDs[edit]

I've noticed you've marked various IDs as deprecated because they're duplicates in the other database. That's not how the deprecated rank should be used, see Help:Ranks. Deprecating a statement means that it is wrong and always has been wrong, i.e. the ID is not and never has been valid for the current item (which implies that the ID has either never been assigned to anything or the ID belongs to a different item). If another database has multiple entries, they are all equally valid IDs for the current item, so we should have multiple non-deprecated statements. If the property has a single value constraint, the item should be added as an exception.

Farbcode[edit]

Hallo. -- DerFussi 10:32, 27 May 2018 (UTC)

Ahoerstemeier (talk) 19:53, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
-- DerFussi 05:36, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
