About me

This is a bot created by Houcemeddine Turki, member of Data Engineering and Semantics Research Team in University of Sfax, Tunisia with the special contributions of Dennis Priskorn, Mid Sweden University, Sweden. This bot allows the enrichment of Wikidata items about scholarly publications with citation data from OpenCitations, an open bibliographic citation database in RDF format.

My work

This bot parses the list of James Hare of Wikidata items with DOI. Then, it uses the REST API of OpenCitations to retrieve the DOI of the references of every signed publication. Later, the obtained DOIs are reconciled to their corresponding Wikidata items using Wikidata Hub and the metadata of missing scholarly publications are extracted from the REST API of OpenCitations. Finally, missing "cites work" relations as well as new Wikidata items for scholarly publications are created using Wikibase Integrator. The source code of this bot is build using Python 3.5 and is available here.
