OGD Zurich Import
[edit]During the Wikimedia Hackathon 2014 in Zurich, the OGD-Team from the City of Zurich proposed to import some of their data to WikiData. I created a bot for this purpose to parse a CSV containing population data in all districts of Zurich from 1970-2013. The code is available on GitHub, the account I used to add the statements was Csvtodata. The bot is based on the popular pywikibot framework. In order to get the population import working, I had to extend it to support unit-less quantities.
You can find the origial data here: https://data.stadt-zuerich.ch/dataset/bev-bestand-jahr-quartier-seit1970

Project to keep sport teams up-to-date
[edit]Sport teams (e.g. football, ice hockey) tend to change each season, and the WikiData items are out of sync.
I started wd-squads, a project that compares members of sport clubs with the information on their Wikipedia page.
Project to keep parliament data up-to-date
[edit]As a sibling to wd-squads I created a new project to keep parliament data up to date. It is based on swissparlpy (which in turn is based on the OData service of parlament.ch, OpenParlData.ch and the Gever of the Canton of Zurich: wd-parliament
