Ars Accordia
[edit]Ars Accordia is a catalogue of European art, dedicated to creating authoritative object records — called art passports — for artworks and artists across European collections. The project begins with Latvian and Swedish art, expanding progressively across European traditions.
The name reflects the project's core purpose: reconciling scattered identity data across multiple authority sources into a single verified record. Each passport brings Wikidata, ULAN, VIAF, and national library authorities into agreement.

Methodology

- Phase 1 (active): external identifiers only —
LNDB IDs, LIBRIS IDs, ULAN IDs, VIAF cross-references
- Phase 2 (planned): sourced biographical data —
birth/death dates and places, sourced to national library records
- Phase 3 (future, pending community discussion):
art movements, education, genre
Every statement carries a reference to an external authoritative source. No self-referential or circular sources.
Batch operations use QuickStatements with human review of every batch before submission. No fully automated submissions.
