Cool! Do you have a link?
Wikidata:Property proposal on top
I'll go through and support you tomorrow, need some sleep!
Thanks. I will add probably more proposals yet and there is no any id for certyfication databases like Music Canada etc. Do you think I schould propose them all? I think they could be added in one entry as music recording certifications ids? Btw. how you have idea how to add to artists page links to their pages at record labels?
"How to link artist page": If I understand you correctly, I would use Property:P973 "described at URL" on the Artist item, with a link to the artist page on the record company website.
"Propose them all:" My advice would be to get one or two proposals approved first (and see what negative feedback some people might have) and then based on that experience make the necessary adjustments and propose the rest.
Good idea about proposals. "described at URL" - would be chance to separate it? "described at URL" seems to be huge hole for everything.
"huge hole for everything" - you're not wrong about that 😄 Some kind of qualifier could probably be used, like Property:P805 "statement is subject of" or Property:P3831 "object has role" and then point to an item (that you have to create) called something like "artist bio", "official artist bio", "record company artist bio", or something like that. Could that work?
We would need property like "Artist profile on record label page" and maybe "Artist profile on agency page" for agences (there could be yet property for agency - I don't know if agences are needed on WD).
agencies are cool to have, especially for movie stars. What I do with that is to use represented by "Some Agency" with a reference URL as a qualifier, pointing to the artist page on the agency website. Remember, an artists relationship with their label/agency can can easily move/change/terminate, and the artist bio pages are therefor not permanent by nature. That's why I'm sceptical to using properties for this, URL with qualifers seem better to me. But that's just one man's opinion! 😊
I noticed problem I think. If I'm right there are different types of music agencies like booking agency (Q64581117)?
sure, but what's the problem? you could add more than one agency, use start time/end time if the artist has changed their agent, and use object has role = "type of agency" to indicate what type of agency you're referring to, some artists may have one agency for film work and another for music, so that's normal.
...it's also quite normal to have different agents for international and domestic work, especially for artists from smaller countries.
don't you think the M.I.B.D. AGENCY is simply a subsidiary of Encore Une Fois GmbH, registered in another country and using the same web template as the parent company?
...I was too quick, both are in Germany but "Maria Isabel Batista Dominguez" (M.I.B.D) has VAT number DE814814519 and the GmbH has VAT number DE190677078. Other than that they share the same address (Karpfenweg 3, 41334 Nettetal). Maybe they are two friends splitting the international market or something, it doesn't seem like a very big agency...
It curious me because: "The Encore Une Fois GmbH was established as an Artists Agency in 2004." "The M.I.B.D. Artist Agency was established as an Artists Agency in 2004."
there is a good chance there is a lot of copy/paste going on, the two websites use the exact same template. You could probably find out by searching for the VAT number at some German government website.
Do you know how to add artists on record label or agency item?
There is no "standard" or, to be honest, good way. I've experimented with using the inverse property of "represented by", represents. But I have to say that's not a great method (there can be thousands of artists on the big labels...). For now, I think the best/cleanest way is simply to link artist and record label through a "list of artists signed to...", like list of artists signed to Virgin or list of artists signed to Warner Bros. Records.
