Template documentation

This template is used to produce a message box indicating that a request for an edit is being made where page protections prevent the user from performing them themselves. It should always be place on the protected page's associated Talk namespace page as the start of a new topic there. It will also add the page to the Wikidata protected edit requests tracking category that is monitored by members of user rights groups capable of acting on them.

Usage

Simply add {{Edit request}} by itself on the first line under the section header for the new talk page topic and describe your edit request and the rationale for it beginning on the next line.

This template accepts one optional parameter, |category=, described in the § TemplateData section below.

Edit request

This template can be used on talk pages of protected pages to make administrators notice edit requests to the page. By convention, it should be placed at the top of the talk page topic about the edit request.
