Aliases[edit]
If the inflected form parts of speech of the term part of speech would be an alias, then so would be word classes, lexical classes and for German Wortklassen, Lexikalischen Kategorie, Lexikalische Kategorien, Lexikalischen Kategorien, Lexikalischer Kategorien. For Q34698 (adjective) that would give:
- Adjektiv: Adjektivs, Adjektive, Adjektiven
- Eigenschaftswort: Eigenschaftswortes, Eigenschaftsworts, Eigenschaftworte, Eigenschaftswörter, Eigenschaftswörtern
- similar with Wiewort and Beiwort
- Adjektivum: Adjektivums, Adjektiva
- with older spellings also Adjectiv and Adjectivum
and for Q24905 (verb) it would be even more... -CubicCubes (talk) 08:49, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, maybe someone will find these useful too and add them. I don't think we run out of space.

- Inflected forms are superfluous, and sometimes even incorrect:
- "part of speech" (singular) and "parts of speech" (plural) do not have the same meaning, that is "part of speech" (singular) is not also known as "parts of speech" (plural).
- "parts of speech" is not a "linguistic category of words" as a correct description would be "linguistic categories of words".
