Two Võru Parish entries
[edit]@Reosarevok: Do you really think it's a good idea to create a separate entry for Võru Rural Municipality (Q44827469)? Is there any precedent or discussion for splitting items this way?
The way I see it, we could handle this as if Võru Parish remained the same and other parishes merged into it. The name is still the same, the municipality government remains mostly the same, I think it's splitting hairs. Intgr (talk) 17:32, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Intgr: IMO yes. It's officially a different municipality (Riigi Teataja), which matters because not all are (for example, Tähtvere vald officially merged into the *existing* Tartu linn). It has a different EHAK code, covers a vastly different area (which means data like area, but also population, does not follow normally from one to another). Additionally, as far as I've been told, this is how it's been done for say Dutch municipality mergers, and it would be good to follow a standard for this :) FWIW, I made sure to make it all consistent, at least for post-re-independence vallad: see list--Reosarevok (talk) 20:28, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
