Hi there! I have noticed that somebody reverted my change of the Afrikaans name. I am not sure why. Please note that Ambassis ambassis was identified as Ambassis productus by South African Ichthyologist Paul Skelton in his book A Complete Guide to the FRESHWATER FISHES of Southern Africa. 2001. ISBN 978-1-86872-643-1. When I created Langstekel-glasvis on the Afrikaans Wiki I couldn't find Ambassis productus on Fishbase. By change I was able to visit the South African Institute for Aquatic Biodiversity in Grahamstown where I spoke to Elaine Heemstra, assistant to another South African Ichthyologist Phil Heemstra. She confirmed that Ambassis ambassis and Ambassis productus is the same fish that the latter is now a synonym for Ambassis ambassis. Best regards. Oesjaar (talk) 07:46, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
