Format constraint[edit]
@Ivan A. Krestinin: Can you take a look at the format constraints and why it lists all the 5-digit items? Thanks! --Tobias1984 (talk) 20:08, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, just because pattern contains 6 elements "\d". Could you describe how many leading zeros are needed? — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 20:16, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
- @Ivan A. Krestinin: I tried it out, and it works without any leading zeros. --Tobias1984 (talk) 11:51, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
- I do not know how this property must be formatted. I hope this table helps you choose correct expression for this case.

Issues[edit]
This is a collection of issues with Fossilworks. Please stick to the bullet point layout:
- Caddidae (Q2932632) on en-wiki and search results "Banks, 1892" FW: "Banks, 1893" --Tobias1984 (talk) 12:36, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- looks like 1892 - Brya (talk) 16:40, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- Dinocardium (Q5278563) has duplicate IDs on FW. --Tobias1984 (talk) 13:29, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- 17577 is genus Dinocardium
- 102750 is subgenus Cardium (Dinocardium). --Succu (talk) 16:16, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
- Lasia - later homonym. - Brya (talk) 16:29, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- Narcine brasiliensis (Q4958816) (Narcine brasiliensis) - FW seems to use the synonym Torpedo brasiliensis and has no entry for Narcine brasiliensis --Tobias1984 (talk) 21:54, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hippomorpha (Q2292292) Wiki-pages are about the suborder (Wood, 1937), FW has 3 search results (unranked, suborder, infraorder) which all link to the same page (unranked): --Tobias1984 (talk) 11:42, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
- Paralcidia -later homonym. - Brya (talk) 11:27, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
- Fordonia - later homonym. - Brya (talk) 11:27, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
- Temnaspis later homonym, use Fischeriella - Brya (talk) 11:41, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
- Enaliornis segdwicki = Enaliornis sedgwicki --Succu (talk) 19:38, 18 March 2016 (UTC) PS: Is this list used by the database editors, Tobias1984?
- @Succu: I will contact John Alroy again that we are gathering this errata list. But I am not sure how the database handles errata even farther upstream (i.e. the scientific literature). --Tobias1984 (talk) 10:36, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
- not just fossil, not just fossil, not just fossil, not just fossil, not just fossil, not just fossil, not just fossil, not just fossil - Brya (talk) 16:23, 10 April 2016 (UTC) [Succu found four to five hundred more]
- Staffia later homonym, use Allostaffia
- Haplophragmoididae, Haplophragmoiidae --Succu (talk) 12:57, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
- Wintonia later homonym
- Melonites later homonym
- Leiodon later homonym
- Khasia Marshall & de Muizon (1988) later homonym - Khasia cordillerensis Marshall and de Muizon 1988: non-existing species
- [1] later homonym
- not just fossil
- misspelling of [2]
- wrong author and date?
- Mauisaurus haasti = Mauisaurus haastii - OP

change URL format[edit]
I am trying to change the URL formatter to direct to the Paleobiology Database itself, instead of Fossilworks, which serves data derived from the Paleobiology Database.
The format should now be: https://www.paleobiodb.org/classic/basicTaxonInfo?taxon_no=
