Русский: Возможно, что портрет работы англичанина Р. Бромптона, который приехал в Петербург по приглашению Екатерины II, уплатившей его долги в Англии, был написан для друга художника, придворного аптекаря Грево. Портрет исполнен как парадный, в котором художник делает акцент на атрибутах власти. Екатерина II изображена в малой императорской короне с лавровым венком, в горностаевой мантии, с большой цепью и звездой высшего ордена России - Св. Андрея Первозванного, а также с черно-желтой лентой ордена Св. Георгия 1-й степени. По всей видимости, этот поясной портрет предшествовал аллегорической картине, незавершенной из-за смерти художника. |
