Task/s: When automated: Imports identifiers for anime/manga databases from other anime/manga databases.
Code: https://github.com/PythonCoderAS/wikidata-anime-import
Function details: Will import MyAnimeList manga ID (P4087), AniList manga ID (P8731), MangaUpdates manga ID (P11149) and add references in automatic mode. Manual mode will import more things but requires a user to explicitly run it. RPI2026F1 (talk) 17:18, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- can you provide more detail about how it will import these values? can we see some sample edits? BrokenSegue (talk) 22:20, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- It imports these values from existing identifiers. For example, given a value for MangaDex title ID (P10589), I can query their API and get values for AniList manga ID (P8731) amid others. RPI2026F1 (talk) 23:45, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- cool. can you show me what the edits look like? mainly I'm interested in what the references look like and whether you add retrieved times. BrokenSegue (talk) 00:13, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- I let it run. Right now it's only adding references since it'll add references to anything without a reference. RPI2026F1 (talk) 01:43, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Running into "Possible vandalism by adding nonsense" errors when trying to put in an editgroup into the description. RPI2026F1 (talk) 01:48, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- OK, the bot has gone past autoconfirmed. I let it run for about a hundred edits. RPI2026F1 (talk) 02:19, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Great this looks good to me now. Support BrokenSegue (talk) 06:24, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Out of curiosity, how long does it take to approve a RFB? RPI2026F1 (talk) 16:32, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- @ RPI2026F1: well it depends. usually a little while unfortunately but if there's support and it's taking too long you can go to the Wikidata:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and ask for the bot flag. once you have the flag new requests can be resolved faster since it doesn't need a bcrat. BrokenSegue (talk) 16:42, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- I filed the original request sometime in the middle of October but I polished it about a week ago. Would waiting another week be enough time? RPI2026F1 (talk) 18:05, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- That would be more than enough time. If you were really impatient and requested it on Wednesday (a week after this request opened) I think that would be fine. Though I'm not a bcrat. BrokenSegue (talk) 18:36, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

- I am going to approve the bot in a couple of days provided no objections have been made.--Ymblanter (talk) 21:00, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- @Ymblanter if no opposition is posted do you think it would be feasible for the bot to get the bot flag tomorrow? RPI2026F1 (talk) 15:16, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
