Wikidata is a free knowledge base that you can edit! It can be read and edited by humans and machines alike and you can go to any item page now and add to this ever-growing database!

Merging items[edit]

For merging items, you can try the following tool: Merge.js gadget. It makes it much easier to do, and easier for the admins to check and follow up your nominations. -Cycn (talk) 06:48, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You don't have to use it, of cause, but the way you nominate now can be improved with it. If you check other nominations you can use those to improve your own nomination, even without using the gadget, considerably. It would make processing your nominations easier, so it would be appeciated if you take a look at it. -

Not wanting to use a .js is fine, but you could still merge items manually: Check the help page about merging if you want tips on that. -

Deletion of empty items[edit]

You mean all those pages to which I have added iw are now empty items and have to be manually deleted!? Why doesn't anything happen automatically on wikipedia? ;-) --Ivan Bajlo (talk) 17:57, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikidataa opettelemaan![edit]

Hei! Olisitko kiinnostunut osallistumaan Wikimedia Suomen järjestämään Wikidataan perehdyttävään projektiin. Pyydämme osallistujiksi wikipedistejä sekä organisaatioita, joiden kanssa opettelemme yhdessä, heidän aineistoillaan. Järjestämme lokakuun alussa Helsingissä työpajapäivän, jossa esitellään Wikidataa sekä suomeksi että englanniksi. Puhujat ja paikka varmistuvat vähitellen, päivämäärä on 2.10.2015. Valmistelemme myös online-opiskelupakettia suomeksi. Olisi hienoa saada mukaan Wikidataa aktiivisesti muokkaavia tilaisuuteen tai opastamaan/oppimaan online. Projektin työn alla olevat sivut ovat täällä: fi:Wikipedia:Wikiprojekti Avoin kulttuuridata hyötykäyttöön. Voit myös lähettää minulle sähköpostia käyttäjäsivuni kautta.
