Notice of removal of adminship[edit]

Hello,

I regret to inform you that, in accordance with Wikidata:Administrators#Losing adminship and as a result of your inactivity, administrator rights have been removed from your account. Please see Wikidata:Requests for comment/Defining inactivity for details. Kind regards, Vogone talk 20:15, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Meisam. Just thought I'd let you know I've given you rollback, since you were a rollbacker prior to being a sysop, and obviously you can still be trusted with it; if for any reason you wouldn't like it, please let me know. Thanks. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 10:13, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for all your helps. Due to migration to another country and another university, currently I have a lot on my mind. I'll try to help again in a few months. Regards. -- Meisam (talk) 12:12, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dispatching[edit]

Could you stop your QuickStatements run for a while? We're having dispatch issues and getting complaints from users that they don't see Wikidata edits. I'm asking you on behalf of the developers. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 16:55, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:Sjoerddebruin. I stopped it! -- Meisam (talk) 16:56, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the quick response. Keep an eye on [1]. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 17:01, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
User:Sjoerddebruin: Thanks to you for helping around. I'll definitely check the lag before starting again. -- Meisam (talk) 17:04, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bathroom[edit]

Hi. It looks like you imported a bunch of objects ~400 as bathroom (Q190771) but they should likely have been hammam (Q28077). if possible could you correct them? /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 16:05, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi André Costa (WMSE)! Can you please give me a few example of those 400? -- Meisam (talk) 16:24, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@André Costa (WMSE): I think they must be imported by User:Rezabot like Q5872502, Q5877871, Q5878176, etc. Should I change their instance to hammam (Q28077)? --
IMO, they must be an instance of public bath (Q785952) (Public bath/Bath-house). -- Meisam (talk) 18:47, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
public bath (Q785952) is probably better. The ones I saw (which led me to believe you had done the import was Shahzadeh Hammam (Tabriz) (Q5685320) but looking around I see that Rezabot by @Yamaha5: has imported most of them. /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 16:34, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@André Costa (WMSE): at here there is'nt my name or my bot's name!Yamaha5 (talk) 16:50, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Yamaha5: My bad! It must be this bunch by User:Dexbot!
@André Costa (WMSE):, I'll fix them ASAP. Thanks for helping. -- Meisam (talk) 17:28, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
... And all fixed B) -- Meisam (talk) 18:29, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 09:28, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request[edit]

Hello.

Could you at create the articles en:Architecture of Azerbaijan (Republic of Azerbaijan), en:List of Azerbaijani film directors (Republic of Azerbaijan) and en:Bodies of water of Azerbaijan (Republic of Azerbaijan) in Farsi (or request them yourself to other users in Farsi Wikipedia)?

Thank you.

Are you sure about this? --ValterVB (talk) 20:17, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @ValterVB: You are right. It may be wrong. I have based my edits on this and this. I reverted it now. -- Meisam (talk) 20:25, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

MusicBrainz ID[edit]

Just wondering, do you remember where you got the MusicBrainz release group ID for Working Class Hero (Q6030039) from? Yours was invalid because it was missing a character, so I tried to replace it with a valid one. Jc86035 (talk) 14:21, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Jc86035: It was due to my imprecise copy-paste! Thanks for fixing. -- Meisam (talk) 11:39, 1 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. At Lectiodifficilior#some hints is a draft about the improuved Authority control script based on Magnus Manskes code modified by Alkanot4ran on requests made by me. We still plan to impruve the code for more efficiency and better hits when the abundance of search results overshadows the WD object's VIAF-related AC-group. An optional input field influencing / modifying the search is planed as well as a search with known DND-ID values for the WD-object. GND ID (P227) allowed to be inserted are restricted to the personalized type piz for persons. Insertion of name only type GND ID's should be avoided as well as empty content GND ID values which are a plague in the VIAF database. Call for participation in the interview study with Wikidata editors[edit]

Dear Meisam,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King’s College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research that develops a personalized recommendation system to suggest Wikidata items for the editors based on their interests and preferences. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I would love to talk with you to know about your current ways to choose the items you work on in Wikidata and understand the factors that might influence such a decision. Your cooperation will give us valuable insights into building a recommender system that can help improve your editing experience.

Participation is completely voluntary. You have the option to withdraw at any time. Your data will be processed under the terms of UK data protection law (including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018). The information and data that you provide will remain confidential; it will only be stored on the password-protected computer of the researchers. We will use the results anonymized to provide insights into the practices of the editors in item selection processes for editing and publish the results of the study to a research venue. If you decide to take part, we will ask you to sign a consent form, and you will be given a copy of this consent form to keep.

If you’re interested in participating and have 15-20 minutes to chat (I promise to keep the time!), please either contact me at kholoudsaa@gmail.com or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmmFHaiB20nK14wrQJgfrA18PtmdagyeRib3xGtvzkdn3Lgw/viewform?usp=sf_link with your choice of the times that work for you.

I’ll follow up with you to figure out what method is the best way for us to connect.

Please contact me using the email mentioned above if you have any questions or require more information about this project.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards

Kholoud

@Kholoudsaa: Your contact information is not listed on the the King's College London website. Please send me your university email for future contacts. (you can send it in an email if you don't want to post it publicly) -- Meisam (talk) 18:03, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Meisam, My university email is: kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk,

You can also find more information about the project in my talk page,

Thank you, Regards Kholoudsaa (talk) 15:16, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Kholoudsaa: Thanks for providing more information. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to participate. Regarding this, here’s a couple of notes for you to consider as a researcher in future:
  1. Zoom is not a private method of communication.
  2. "We will publish all data anonymized" is too vague!
  3. "password-secured laptop" is by no means secure.
  4. Using Google docs (or any Google service) is a bad idea for people who value their privacy.
  5. "You have the option to withdraw your information" does not explain what will happen to the data and how the participants can verify this withdrawal.
Good luck with your research. -- Meisam (talk) 17:45, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
