move bot[edit]

Hi, Is it possible to define for bot

  • if A > B
  • if A has item and B has Item
  • if one of them has only one lang link remove that link ( empty single interwiki item)
  • then if still A has item move it.

I think with this method many of the errors will be solved by bot . thanksYamaha5 (talk) 22:07, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I solved many bugs that your bot listed for fa.wikipedia with this code Yamaha5 (talk) 13:28, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is possible to update the page? Thanks. --ValterVB (talk) 09:26, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bot mistake[edit]

The bot just did this: http://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q1064996&diff=55239661&oldid=46892724 - The Wenlock Group (a stratigraphic succession) is not the same thing as the Wenlockian (a period of time). They have a similar name because the Wenlockian used to be defined from the Wenlock. Should I just create a new item or can we find the old one? --Tobias1984 (talk) 18:10, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I decided to create a stub article on en-Wiki so the mistake wouldn't be duplicated ;). I have to look into the details of Wenlock Group, because apparently that term isn't used anymore. best wishes ;) --Tobias1984 (talk) 14:11, 10 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The bot just did:http://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q201970#sitelinks-wikipedia Shrewsbury link http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/シュルーズベリー校 (=Shrewsbury School) I'm Sorry about several language Link remove. Link restored to the state before my operation. and Add http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/シュルーズベリー(=Shrewsbury) 10:11, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

Bot creating pages[edit]

Hello,

Your bot has created thousands (maybe dozens of thousands) of pages with no label like this one Q14561870. Could you please fix that by adding the title of the Wikipedia article as a label ? Thanks. Ljubinka (discussion) 07:01, 12 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I requested the new task for my bot.--Emaus (talk) 00:11, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Is it possible to add the same label in French and in Latin when the item is about a taxon? Ljubinka (discussion) 07:01, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. The bot is still creating a lot of elements without any label like this one Q14664278. Could you fix that? Ljubinka (discuter) 20:38, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The bot is still creating many entries such as Q27784538 without a label and linking only to the cebwiki and the svwiki when there are already entries for the entity (just without the parenthesis part!), in this case Q2651217. Please stop NOW and fix the bot, this will be a lot of work to fix! --WiseWoman (talk) 02:45, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@WiseWoman: that item (Q27784538) HAS labels (click on "All entered languages" on item page, or see history). And, this item was created to interconnect sv.wiki article with the one from ceb.wiki, on the basis of the interwiki links introduced by Lsjbot in his newly creted articles (see article history on sv.wikipedia); EmausBot just migrated interwiki links to wikidata like a standard interwiki-bot. The fact that there are now two items for the same entity it's not Emaus' fault. --XXN, 21:00, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There was no English label. But this makes absolutely no sense - I see the Bot creating many duplicate items that will have to be hand-deleted. Bots should only introduce new items when they are SURE that this item is not yet in Wikidata. Otherwise the database will be so polluted with multiple items, it will make things very difficult to manage and query. --WiseWoman (talk) 15:51, 19 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@WiseWoman: I may agree regarding WD's database pollution, it's a fact the community should take care. But, this bot was approved for this task (to update Wikidata with necessary changes related to interwiki links across all WMF wikis).
Currently this and other similar bots are programmed to act as follows:
If a newly created article...
  • has no interwiki links in its source -> then after some time the bot will create a new separate item for that article.
  • if article has interwiki links in its source to an existing article in another wiki...
    • and, if that article already has a WD item -> then the bot will try to connect new article to that item.
    • if the article from another wiki (to which points our interwiki link) does not have yet an WD item -> then the bot will create a new item connecting the two or more articles at once in that item.
Such an algorithm was good enough till now, but if you are not pleased with it, you may want to open a new thread at WD:PC or WD:BR to discuss about this, and to ask for a new bot with artificial intelligence which will understand better when to create a new items and when only to add sitelinks and labels to an existing item. Such a bot it's not easy to develop, there is a high risk of errors or false-positives, and such a task probably will be separated anyway. Currently there are many potential candidate items for merging (see User:Pasleim/projectmerge) and human users regularly are working on this; if you've found a big set of 100%-duplicated items, you may want to ask for them to be merged. --XXN, 17:24, 19 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bot sitelink[edit]

Hello Emaus, I just noticed that your bot added this sitelink [1] at Battle of Fontenoy (Q569953). I wonder if this correct or it should better be linked with Battle of Rocoux (Q32493) which is also linked in the article text. Note that an IP user also removed most sitelinks there for some reason; Maybe you can have a look at the item and check what is correct. Thanks!--Kompakt (talk) 15:00, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Emaus,

One of the properties you supported is now available: State Water Register Code (Russia) (P884). --  Docu  at 20:11, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Labels and Sitelinks[edit]

Shoud be added together. --Succu (talk)

  • Hello! Labeling is not obvious process, it is language specific and content specific. And I'm afraid that it is not easy to write an universal algorythm of lable emphasizing from the sitelink. That's why my bot doesn't add the at the same time. --Emaus (talk) 16:58, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi Emaus. Creating labels is a simple task. If you have the interlanguage-links then you have allready the labels, because they are simply the corresponding lemmas. Are you still using Bene*-C#-framework? Maybe then I can show you a little codefragment how to do this. --Succu (talk) 17:57, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Looks like you have some kind of artificial intellect that can read Wikipedia's articles on multiple languages ) Otherwise it is not simple task. There is no technical problem to add labels, but an algorythm of the label creation is not evident and it strongly depends on language and page content. For example:
  1. English article en:Newark, New Jersey should have a lable "Newark", without "New Jersey"
  2. Russian anrticle ru:Пушкин, Александр Сергеевич should have a lable "Пушкин, Александр Сергеевич" or "Александр Сергеевич Пушкин"
In first case we can remove the specification "New Jersey" by cutting off the last part of of the page title separated by comma. In second case we cann't do that. And the label creation algorythm should know about this difference and understand what kind of page it processes. --Emaus (talk) 17:19, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Link import bot request[edit]

Hey, just so you know, you've been recommended for this task. Can you help? Cheers. Delsion23 (talk) 16:58, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bot importing non-notable pages[edit]

Hi, your bot imported many pages from en-wiki (w:en:Category:Cite doi templates), which are not maybe notable on Wikidata. Please see Wikidata:Administrators'_noticeboard#.E2.80.8EEmausBot. --Stryn (talk) 16:23, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PAGENAME labels are better then NO LABEL[edit]

Hi! I found Portal:Constructed languages (Q14614960) . It is not funny to manually copy and paste PAGENAME's in scripts with punctuation characters as Indic scripts or ARAB. This is a known source of errors. See Q14614960|action=history. Regards לערי ריינהארט (talk) 07:33, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello! I'm not sure that this is absolutely correct, since there are very different syntax rules on each language. But I think that ths can be done for pages not from a main namespace, because their titles are more close to the syntactically correct titles. --Emaus (talk) 19:14, 11 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It is approved. As a bot, It should follow the 3-revert rule (1RR is better).--GZWDer (talk) 15:45, 11 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

functionality[edit]

Hi Emaus, the bot has added again "Programmablaufplan" in flowchart (Q185092) after a previous deletion. But "Programmablaufplan" is not identical as "Flowchart". How can I avoid a new change of bot after deletion? -- con-struct 19:52, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bot adding a stub[edit]

Hi there,
your bot added a stub article, although the article has a {{stub}}- and a {{nobots}}-tag:

This shouldn't happen IMO. Please prevent your bot from adding stubs. Thank you --Murma174 (talk) 21:58, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello. There are no restrictions on content from main namespace and the only legal way to introduce such restrictions is starting RFC. In my opinion, the template "nobots" shouldn't prevent the adding link to Wikidata since it is absolutely local template and there can be many reasons of it's adding. And "stub" template is added to multiple thousands of pages. Even millions of pages, perhaps. And it is not evident that we should exclude all of them from Wikidata. --Emaus (talk) 20:28, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply, but {{nobots}} means: no bots --Murma174 (talk) 22:29, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, bots are not editing/checking/going to article on frr-wiki if there is {{nobots}}. There is also other articles in other Wikipedia's from where the bot is maybe importing the frr-link. If you don't want it to be added on Wikidata, then remove the page on frr-wiki. --Stryn (talk) 08:16, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your explanation, we'll find a solution on frr-wiki. --Murma174 (talk) 11:13, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

LinkRecoveryBot missing link removals[edit]

Hi. Thanks for running LinkRecoveryBot. It's a great help to remain the sanity of Wikidata. I don't know if you are aware of this fact, but User:KrBot recently started to do something similar in publishing User:KrBot/Lost links regularly, where link removals are listed. This is also great, as it simplifies human checking and reverting/fixing significantly, and is a great chance to get those edits that your bot misses. There actually are quite some link removals from the last couple of days in the list that your bot should have removed. I don't know how this comes, perhaps your bot isn't running all the time and then doesn't look far enough into the past. It would be great if you could increase your hit rate. But in the end, it's far better if you catch only some than nobody catches any of those edits. However, now I found an edit that your bot obviously saw but didn't revert. Please see the history of Q3505089. An IP removed both sitelinks (in two edits, of course, both in the same minute). You bot reverted the last one, but not the first one. So I guess your bot simply doesn't check for multiple edits if he finds one. I guess it shouldn't be too hard to fix this issue. Thank you very much in advance, and have a nice day. --YMS (talk) 14:50, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, i am a Russian Wikisource administator. diffs:ru:Дом с мезонином (Чехов) has two english translation, your bot should either add both or do nothing. It seems the wikidata model not support one-to-many relationship for Wikisource. Eugene Zelenko advises me to abstain on linking of work items until the final decision. -- Sergey kudryavtsev (talk) 06:52, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

--Emaus (talk) 23:10, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
-- Sergey kudryavtsev (talk) 04:24, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot read the above, but here are you not following the work-edition pattern we have agreed about in our talks here. They have different metadata, and should therefor have separate items. -- Lavallen (talk) 07:55, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, fine! -- Lavallen (talk) 07:44, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

-- Sergey kudryavtsev (talk) 09:39, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

-- Sergey kudryavtsev (talk) 05:34, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

-- Sergey kudryavtsev (talk) 07:16, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Removing category links after deletion[edit]

Hi, at the moment both EmausBot and Hoo Bot are picking up category changes in enwiki. EmausBot does a better job (from my point of view as an admin on enwiki) because it replaces the link after a rename, whereas Hoo Bot just deletes the old one. However, the operator of Hoo Bot says that his bot needs to continue dealing with deleted categories, as EmausBot does not do that. See discussion at User talk:Hoo Bot.

Could you change EmausBot so that it picks up deleted categories? If so, then categories could be removed from the scope of Hoo Bot.

Also, when dealing with category renames, please could EmausBot also change the English description? Fayenatic london (talk) 12:14, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bugs in the bot[edit]

This bot edit caused someone using the Widar powered merge Wikidata Game to merge it into Q11910654 and nominate it for deletion. Could you find out why it did that edit and see if it has done similar edits which need to be reverted before Wikidata Game participants get to them..

Also, Q16914225 created by your bot wrongly links two related but not similar concepts, as far as I can see. John Vandenberg (talk) 08:56, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also I see your bot is creating items for sitelinks in different namespaces, such as Q16915397. John Vandenberg (talk) 09:11, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

And it is creating duplicates, of species of all things. e.g. Rhododendron flammeum (Q16912770) dup of Rhododendron flammeum (Q15389410). John Vandenberg (talk) 09:14, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bug in the bot (3)[edit]

Hello, this edit is inappropriate. In Q1051596, all other interlang links are articles about an album by Accept (for example: en:Metal Heart, de:Metal Heart), and only no:Metal Heart Festival is an article about rock concert, not album. Please don't add no:Metal Heart Festival to Q1051596.--Ikespirit (talk) 00:41, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bug in the bot (4)[edit]

I have reverted your bot his edits on Law & Order, season 10 (Q1451711), Law & Order, season 17 (Q1451322), Law & Order, season 8 (Q1451655), Law & Order, season 5 (Q2322112), Law & Order, season 6 (Q1451678), Law & Order, season 7 (Q1451692) and Law & Order, season 2 (Q2322052). Please take a look what cause these issues, because I don't see why the bot makes this kind of edits. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 20:25, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Guerre israélo-arabe de 1948-1949/Conflit judéo-arabe de 1947-1949[edit]

I have just removed the link of this subpage to en:1948 Palestine war et al., as there no longer is any such article on the French WP. Indeed, it was deemed to be redundant with current Featured articles fr:Conflit de 1947-1948 en Palestine mandataire + fr:Guerre israélo-arabe de 1948-1949.

It was kept as a subpage primarily because it could prove useful as an extra resource for the corresponding bibliography. Also, please note that on the French Main, fr:Guerre de Palestine de 1948 redirects to fr:Guerre israélo-arabe de 1948-1949, which is the central article of this template.

So, if anything, en:1948 Palestine war should be linked (or redirected) to fr:Guerre israélo-arabe de 1948-1949, not to its (obsolete) subpage. --Azurfrog (talk) 17:18, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Overzealous interwiki link readding[edit]

Re: https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q3817507&action=history The Enwiki article en:Killer Queen (video game) is no longer about the same topic as the Jawiki and Zhwiki articles. Can you stop the bot relinking them to each other?--Brainy J (talk) 16:39, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pardon me for jumping in here. @Brainy J:, I've created a new item for the Japanese video game Killer Queen at Q17372949. I don't know the details of the bot but I think it just re-adds any link that has been removed unless it was re-added to another item. The bot has no way of knowing if the removal was vandalism or a justified correction, so it is forced to assume that it was vandalism unless the link was put back somewhere (on the same item or a different one), because there's a steady stream of such vandalism and editors are too lazy to watch for it. Next time you find a link which belongs on another item, it's best to remove it, then quickly make a new item and add it there. --Haplology (talk) 08:51, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re-adding invalid links[edit]

In this edit the LinkRecoveryBot re-added an invalid link to a user page which an IP had correctly removed. Is it possible to prevent the bot from re-adding links which trip this filter? Cheers. Delsion23 (talk) 16:58, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your bot reverts stuff but calls it "recovery"[edit]

Hi there! You - or rather your "linkrecoverybot" reverted me here [3] and I can't for the life of me understand why. Your edit is basically a revert labelled "recovery" without a motivation. I always thought that bot edits should be uncontroversial but what is this?

In this case, I had exchanged a link to an article for another. Sometimes, one finds iw that is plainly wrong without finding another article to replace it with at Wikidata. If this replacement edit was reverted, probably I should I expect such edits to be reverted too. If so, how do we expect Wikidata to amount to anything but a huge lump of stuff linked together in a pretty haphazard fashion? --90.236.97.31 10:35, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re-adding invalid links, again[edit]

Here's an example of the bot re-adding bad links: https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q1325929&action=history As you can see, one editor made a mistaken merge, realised what they had done, and fixed it manually; your bot then recovered the bad interwiki links, and restored them to the article. I've re-fixed it again, manually. Please fix your bot; this sort of error-restoring behavior has bad effects for downstream data reusers. -- The Anome (talk) 09:50, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Readdition of removed Wikipedia link by EmausBot[edit]

Hi,

I removed the link to sv:Kategori:Pirar at Q8762730 as the discussion at sv:Diskussion:Pir came to the conclusion that "pier" in English and "pir" in Swedish are false friends ("pier" corresponds to "brygga" while "pir" corresponds to "jetty"). However, the link was readded by EmausBot. I'd like to understand why this happened, so it can be avoided in the future.

Merging[edit]

Hi Emaus, I noticed that your bot did merging by just moving a sitelink. For example Q20847045 and Q12087472 were "merged", but not actually merged. I completed some 3000 of these merges using widar, but I think it's better that it is completed by your bot itself (or botwise by someone else). Can you look into that? EmausBot has added cebwiki and svwiki sitelinks for places to the following disambiguation pages: Q1298286, Q7203491, Q11174097, Q15910419, Q16072477. I've removed the links, and added them to a new item. Silverfish (talk) 17:32, 9 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect linking[edit]

In this edit your bot connected an article about a city to a item about a person. Maybe you should find the bug in your code and see if the bug has caused more bad edits? Boivie (talk) 06:35, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Many Swedish articles about Chinese places are linked to items about persons by your bot, and I have deleted several of these wrong sitelinks. Yesterday your reinserted a deleted link to Q19653903. Please take more care. Best regards, Dipsacus fullonum (talk) 14:03, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect linking 2[edit]

Hi! In this edit your bot connected an article about a person to a item about a film. --Vépi (talk) 05:17, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Vépi: this was caused by a wrong wikilink ([[en:Trauma (1993 film)|Trauma]]) - in fact a interwiki link, see page source (revision permalink). --XXN, 20:45, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi The bot created at least one new category for year of death, where these already exist. Would you be able to check whether the bot did others. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:59, 26 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Still happening. It would be really really useful if you could take the time to search for and separate potential duplicates rather than have an expectation that others can come along and merge later. I would think that a default position that year categories will exist and shouldn't be created would be advisable.  — billinghurst sDrewth 22:15, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

articles from Norwegian wiki added to wrong items[edit]

Emaus, I just noticed this edit by your bot adding sitelink to no:Neoclitopa to Neoclitopa nitidipennis (Q14869209) when it should have been added to Neoclitopa (Q18115528). I collected bunch of them by hand but there is too many of them. Can you use your bot to move them to proper items? --Jarekt (talk) 20:49, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect linking (3)[edit]

The bot linked an radio station to an disambiguation page.[5] Is the bot still maintained? Since you didn't answer the last couple of months and nothing seems to improve, it may be time for a statement about the status of the bot. --Mirer (talk) 15:50, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bot creating duplicates[edit]

Hi. When running your bot, would you be able to get it to check for existing items prior to creating. It has created numbers of duplicates in the "YYYY in Spain" space. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 23:50, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

--XXN, 16:43, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

--XXN, 18:56, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

LinkRecoveryBot[edit]

Your bot has been listed at Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Removal/Inactive bot accounts as being inactive for over two years. As a housekeeping measure it's proposed to remove the bot flag from inactive bot accounts, unless you expect the bot will be operated again in the near future. If you consent to the removal of the bot flag (or do not reply on the deflag page) you can rerequest the bot flag at Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Bot should you need it again. Of course, You may request retaining your bot flag here if you need the bot flag. Regards--GZWDer (talk) 12:37, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your bot's continuing creation of existing categories[edit]

Hi. Your bot is still creating year categories in WD when they already exist (see this example of yesterday's). Year categories predominantly all exist in various forms so maybe your bot should be excluding those types of categories if it is unable to detect for existing categories. Generate a list if you need to do some comparison prior to creation, but please stop the creations. Volunteers should not have to be slaving away with merges for a bot's unthinking actions, that is a back-to-front approach!  — billinghurst sDrewth 03:58, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If not this bot, then some flooders will create such items anyway[6]. The bot at least can import interwikis as well (where exists) while mass-editing tools can't. I've merged the related items. --XXN, 12:03, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Creating items for categories by bot[edit]

Hi Emaus,

When your bot creates new items for categories, e.g. https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q51084261&action=history

would you add P31 as well? This would avoid filling Wikidata:Database_reports/without_claims_by_site/enwiki.

P31 for any items for pages in category namespace at Wikipedia is Wikimedia category (Q4167836).

Q6446790[edit]

Bonjour,

Nonsense edit[edit]

This edit makes no sense at all. --EncycloPetey (talk) 15:22, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Another incorrect edit. The French copy is not an English translation. They are linked, but Wikisource copies always have separate data items, which is why interwiki links have to be managed locally. Wikidata will not make interwiki links between Wikisources in different languages. --EncycloPetey (talk) 20:12, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Another incorrect edit. Wikisource copies need separate data items for each language. The local interwiki links exist so that copies in different languages are connected, even though they require separate data items. You cannot rely on Wikisource links to add Wikidata info. --EncycloPetey (talk) 20:17, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I stopped bot work on Wikisourse. A little bit later I'll start reverting. As I see, there are huge lack of Wikidata items for Wikisourse articles and local Wikisourse interwiki are completely irrelevant. --Emaus (talk) 20:47, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there is a lack of Wikidata items for Wikisource. That is because there are not tools for creating and linking all the data items on all the Wikisources. The difference in the way that published works is handled means that a lot of work is needed to add them to Wikisource, and right now that has to be done manually.
The local interwiki are not irrelevant. In fact they are necessary because Wikidata does not support the interwiki links for Wikisource projects. Some Wikisource have developed a way to work around this problem, but for now we have to have the interwiki links kept on the Wikisource pages, or else there will not be an interwikis between Wikisources. --EncycloPetey (talk) 21:51, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

These two edits of the Emausbot were wrong. Maybe you fixed that problem already. I guess it appeared because Schlammbach is an alternative name of the Oberhermsdorfer Bach – but the ceb Schlammbach is a totally different Schlammbach. Regards --Cyfal (talk) 12:22, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Emaus,
Your bot added two interwiki links (no & pt) to this particular item, which is about the original American game show Lingo.
The added links are primarily about the Norwegian and Portuguese versions of Lingo that should be considered as different from the original Americal version.

High EmausBot login rate[edit]

Hello!

Your bot is logging into Wikimedia projects over 7K times in a 48H period, which is excessive, and shouldn't be necessary.

See https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T256533#6261565

Can you do anything about this?

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Login#Additional_notes

>If you are sending a request that should be made by a logged-in user, add assert=user parameter to the request you are sending in order to check whether the user is logged in. If the user is not logged-in, an assertuserfailed error code will be returned.

Important notice: You are making a lot of login requests[edit]

Hello,

my name is Martin Urbanec and I am a Wikimedia system administrator. We've noticed your bot makes a lot of login requests (since 2020-08-25 08:34:37, it made about 7k of login requests, which is approx. 2 % of all login requests across all wikis).

We would like to ask you to be considerate of other users (including other bot operators), as well as about our infrastructure. Please make sure your bot makes use of session, or use other mechanisms like OAuth to reduce the amount of requests you receive.

If you have any question, or if you want to learn more about the context of this message, please see phab:T256533.

EmausBot bypassing a redirect with intentional sitelink to redirect[edit]

See this. The edits should not have happened. Linking to a redirect was intentional – it may once be expanded into an article. Janhrach (talk) 15:44, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Emaus: thank you for all the good work! I have the same issue as @Janhrach on this edit. The link should not have be changed, they are not the same concepts, one is only a part of the other. This probably happened due to the absence of a Wikidata item for the group. Please take these observations into account and program the bot so that it does not edit any of the intentional sitelinks to redirect. Regards — Baidax 💬 11:43, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
