main food source
species, genus or family that an organism depends on for nutrition
Descriptionthe property describes what a plant or animal eats. the direction is predator ---> prey. the link should always go to the most specific subdivision. So instead of saying a certain species of bird eats seeds, it should list all the specific seeds. Queries for "birds that eat seeds" should return said bird and list the seeds that it eats.

should we use this for required elements in soil?[edit]

Some plants depend on specific elements to grow e.g. Humulus lupulus (Q104212) d1g (talk) 01:03, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Worthless property[edit]

In current state it can only used when one instance of taxa consumes whole another taxa.

Crab eats another crab completely? Yes. Crab eats a chela of another crab? No. Whole chicken? Yes. Chicken leg? No. Proteins extracted from chicken leg? No. A plant uses magnesium as nutrient? magnesium deficiency in plants (Q6731385) No, magnesium not a taxa.

@Succu: seem to support such arbitrary nutrition selection. d1g (talk) 14:47, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

as well as @Brya: [1] d1g (talk) 16:58, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
?!?!??? You are mistaken. - Brya (talk) 05:49, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Too vague property, I suppose. We could say like that for any animal being. Or restriction to taxa would be better, yes. --Infovarius (talk) 09:14, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
