Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle de Nantes.Cœlacanthe Latimeria chalumnae Le spécimen du Muséum de Nantes est pêché aux Comores, dans la nuit du 25 au 26 septembre 1968 à 1 km du rivage, par 150 m de fond. Il s'agit d'un mâle mesurant 1,32 m et pesant 33,8 kg. Les cœlacanthes Latimeria chalumnae sont les derniers survivants d'une lignée qui a connu son apogée il y a 240 millions d'années.
